Clutch problem on Boxxer 421 and other Hydramasters

Thought I'd share this since it could save you a few hundred mile trip and maybe some money as well. I'm not too good with electrical related problems on the Boxxer and when my pump stopped putting water out just as I was finishing up a job one day I was stumped. First thing I noticed was I had two fuses blown as well as the inline fuse on my Mytee transfer pump (which I think started this off, but not certain). Next thing I notice my clutch is not engaging even after I hooked up to the...

HM 3.6 CDS Blower Shut Off

$

Yesterday I did two water loss jobs using the water claw and the vacuum turned off. I assumed it was because the load and maybe the blower over heated. Took about 5 minutes before I could get it started again. Today, I did another water loss but with the wand on cgd carpet and it happened again. With in ten minutes. What would cause the blower to shut down? The service light was on each time the blower shut down. Thanks for any replies. Brian.

What is the purpose of the 50amp regulator

So, the original engine in my Boxxer 421 took a shit early last week. Dropped push rods. It was a 21hp Briggs that came standard on the machine.

Contacted hydramaster as well as Jondon for a replacement. They said that a 23hp Briggs has replaced it. Part number 386447-3079-G1. Using that part number I located a brand new replacement engine for a great price and ordered it.

Unit arrived, took it to my mechanic to have it put in, and he says that the new engine only came with a 20amp...

Boxxer 421 water out of large exhaust pipe

I have a boxxer 421. I've read the other issues people have had with water coming out of the exhaust.

I don't think it is a heat ex-changer because I descaled the machine and I had it circulating through the machine for a good 10 to 15 minutes with the diverter on I had no water from the exhaust. I've been told that if its the heat exchanger its going to leak water all the time. There was no water coming out during this period.

I also let the machine run for a good 15 minutes after...

Time to change the belt? And how to...

Minor cracks seen in the current belt. Some play with it. Could be stretched a bit.

Do I loosen the upper right pulley that is not a fixed position to remove it? How do I know the proper setting once the new one is on? Do I mark the current position with a marker so I know what to aim for?

Checked manual and this appears no where.

This is not the starter solenoid (which is rear of the engine to the left)

Can't figure it out really. View attachment 48456 this is front right, right behind the panel.
The 2 smaller wires lead to nothing. Can't this just be removed?

Hi guys! Me and a friend bought a boxxer 421 which has a few problems! Right now we are stucked on a fuse that blows as soon as we start the engine! It is the main temp control fuse! We think this leads to the overheating of the machine and the fact that the dump valve on the waste tank not opening up to cool the water in the system ( i think it is called the solenoid)! I attached a photo of the fuse box in which the 2 blue shoes wires are connected with a small electrical piece ( a red and...

Hey guys-

I have an old Crossfire 4.4 and my blower finally went out. It made about 6000 hours which I cant complain about. I just got all the bolts out and realized that the blower is screwed in to the silencer. Any advice on taking those off? Is it really as simple as lefty loosey? If so- sweet if not any help on getting it off? The new blower comes in on Thursday so I am just trying to have the van ready!

Also I have an old 3cp Cat pump- to try and avoid any further down time,...

Boxxer XL

I recently purchased a Boxxer XL. After 175 Hrs the belt tensioner basically "exploded". The part was replaced under warranty (which involved 6 hrs of driving to and back from my distributor). 13 operational hrs later the whole pulley system flew off while cleaning and lodged itself between the exhaust and the heat exchanger. I'm concerned about collateral damage to my new machine from flying projectiles, not to mention the drive for warranty repairs and lost business. Has anyone else run...

Boxxer 421 stuck on heat divert

I've had a 421 for some time now and had a problem with the divert coming on way to soon and the machine would dump the water and I would get no heat. I replaced the variable resistor which is the long thing with two white white wires atatched and this cured the problem. NOW I have a new problem .When I ran it a bit hot the Pump clutch turned off and will not come on and the heat diverts the hot air out, hence no water pressure and no heat. I replaced the expensive black electrical box in...

Boxer 318 lost all power

I was working today and started my boxer 318. I ran it at low idle for a couple minutes and then turned idle up by half. I started lubricating engine and covered the vacuum (still at half idle) and the unit shut down. I tried to restart thinking the half idle choked the engine and shut it off. The unit would not turn over and made no sound at all with the key. I tried jumping battery just in case battery was low and needed extra kick. Nothing....I left the unit and started cleaning with a...

RX20 Jets

One thing I never learned at the old company was how to work on the equipment.

I've got a couple jets clogged on my Rx20. What's the best way to deal with this? Take the jets off, and blow them out? Do I need to put Teflon tape in the threads, or don't worry about it?

I recently obtained an older RX 20. My problem is when I hook it to my machine and turn on the pump, before I engage the solution handle water streams out of the Jets slightly. What would the problem be?

It's actually a very tiny problem that has been a nuisance to me and the service techs at Jondon. I'm going to start by saying that Eric and his crew at the Jondon in Norcross, ga have been doing an AWESOME job at trying to fix this little problem, and they are reminding me how well they back their warranty with replacement parts AND service.

It started when I saw a little puddle of oil right under my blower. I found that the little leak is coming from the drain port. Simple fix I...
